The setting in my novel is in many different places. In the first chapter it starts out Colorado. The family is there for a job but decides to make a trip out of it. “In early March 2003, I was scheduled to travel to Greeley, Colorado, for a district board meeting of the Wesleyan church.” The family then goes to Butterfly Pavilion, it is an educational zoo type place for kids. “Billed as an “invertebrate zoo,” the Butterfly Pavillion opened in 1995 as an educational project that would teach people about the wonders of insects as well as marinecriters, the kinds that live in tide pools.” After the trip there family makes there way home to Imperial. “We reached Imperial in just under three hours.”
Below is a picture of the Butterfly Pavilion sign in Denver where the family visited.

Why I chose this book...
I chose the book Heaven is for Real By: Todd Burpo to read for my independent
novel. I chose it because I heard from many people that it was a great book,
and they could not put it down. I’ve also been told that it was a very
inspirational book and very eye opening. I also chose it because it is short. I
have learned that I cannot focus on a book for very long before I lose interest
in it. I predict that this book will not have a slow start because it is so
short and is a true story. I also enjoy true stories that can motivate and
inspire me, so I thought this would be a good book for me.
